Police in Entebbe Town have confirmed that they will charge two suspects with rape and aggravated robbery.

Entebbe Police Commander Edgar Nyabongo said the suspects who were arrested early this week after they were allegedly reported by two girls, are also known to be top Entebbe socialites.

“We had previously got information that the two suspects were habitual rapists but we hadn’t received concrete information to nab them until two girls who were raped at gun point came to us,” Mr Nyabongo said.

Price of a beer?
According to the girls’ statements, the rapists reportedly lured them by offering to buy them drinks.

“They called me out after buying two bottles and ordered me to enter their car. On refusing, they started boxing my ears, before pulling out a pistol,” one of the statement reads.

It is also alleged in the statement that one of the suspects then drove to Kituubulu Forest, where he raped the victim thrice before dropping her off at Abayita Ababiri Town.

Mr Nyabongo says they traced the suspects using information from the victims.

“We have taken the suspects through HIV and mental tests and also done an HIV test on the,” he said.
