Pader District officials say the teachers expect Shs500 per paper they marked.

Pader.
Teachers who participated in marking mock examinations in Pader Town Council and Pajule and Lapul sub-counties in Pader District, have withheld mock results of Primary Seven pupils over delayed payment.

The schools which have not yet received their mock results include six schools in Pader Town Council, 10 schools in Lapul Sub-County and 16 schools in Pajule Sub-County.
The Pader District examination board chairperson, Mr Alem Mac-Amaca, said the delays came as a result of some schools defaulting on the payment of Shs2,000 per pupil for the mock exams.

“Each teacher is expected to receive Shs500 per paper marked, but it has not been the case. As soon as the money is deposited in the bank, the examiners will immediately be paid,” Mr Mac-Amaca said.

He called upon the teachers to cooperate with the district in uplifting academic performance.
Pader secretary for education Patrick Kilama, who said the results should have been out by last month, appealed to the teachers to release the results as they negotiate on the modalities of payment.
