In the spirit of making money from the “rich”, local traders asked mourners to support their businesses too.
“Abagaga bo’mukikuubo mutuguleeko naffe tubengamwe…” (Rich people from Kikuubo, buy from us so that we become like you), one of the traders said.

Hawkers lined up along the road leading to the deceased’s final resting place selling items like yams, sweet potatoes, fresh beans, ginger, cassava, mushrooms, to fruits like passion fruits, paw paws, avocado and roasted meat. It was like a market day.
