Three knocked dead in separate accidents on Kampala-Jinja Road

Buikwe- Three people have been knocked dead by speeding trucks in separate accidents in Buikwe District on the Kampala –Jinja Highway on Sunday.

According  to police, a truck Reg. No. UAQ 949L that was transporting sugar cane from  Kayunga District to SCOUL Factory  in Lugazi overturned   in  Mabira Forest killing  the turn man on spot. The victim was identified as Najibu  Mulawo, a resident of Iganga District. The driver who sustained injuries is the father of the turn man, according to police.

In the nearby Mbiko trading centre, a truck knocked dead Moses Iga, a resident of Nakibbizi in Njeru Municipality at about 2 am on Sunday.

"He was coming home after work. A speeding truck knocked him while crossing the road,” Mr Ambrose Kibuuka, the father of the Iga said at Jinja Hospital Mortuary, where he had gone to pick the body.

Another man who has been identified as Christopher Kirimasa was knocked dead at at Bulumanji,  Njeru Municipality.

The body was taken to Jinja Hospital Mortuary.
