KAMPALA.
Three people, arrested last week for allegedly impersonating police officers, have been charged with fraud.
Mr Ronald Kasekende, of Lungujja in Rubaga Division, Ms Lydia Nsiimire from Kawempe and Mr Ivan Musiimenta of Ntinda were arrested on May 7 at Parliament.

The saga
Police say the suspects had gone to interrogate Ms Harriet Ntabazi, the Woman MP for Ntoroko District, in a purported investigation to verify her academic qualifications.

They appeared before City Hall Magistrate’s Court on Friday and were charged with impersonating public officers, conspiracy to commit a felony and uttering false documents to Parliament.

They denied the charges and were released on bail pending trial. They will reappear in court on June 11 for mention of their case.
Prosecution states that the suspects presented themselves as police officers carrying out investigations into allegations that Ms Ntabazi had used another person’s academic documents to be elected to Parliament
