Minister Mutende died of natural causes- Government

State Minister for Industry, Dr James Shinyabulo-Mutende died of natural causes, government has said.
A statement issued by government on Sunday said, “Results from pathologists who carried out the postmortem at Mulago National Referral Hospital show that Hon Dr James Mutende died of natural causes.”
Dr Mutende’s nephew, Mr Henry Mutende, earlier on told Sunday Monitor that he received a call at about 8am on Saturday from Ms Lydia Wanyoto Mutende that her husband was complaining of stomach complications.

“Later at about 9am, I received another call from the same person that the condition had worsened and that he was vomiting blood then shortly she rang back that the minister had passed on,” Mr Mutende recalled.
According to the statement signed by Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, government on Saturday constituted a committee chaired by the Minister of Energy Eng. Irene Muloni and deputised by the Minister of State for Trade, David Wakikona, to coordinate Dr Mutende’s burial arrangements.

“The committee has been holding meetings with members of the family to make the necessary burial arrangements……. The death of Hon Dr James Mutende is a big loss to the country. He was a dedicated patriot who served the people of Uganda with distinction,” the statement read in part.
Dr Mutende died at his home in Lukuli-Nanganda in Makindye, in Kampala at about 10am Saturday.
"Burial arrangements and other details will be communicated in due course," Dr Rugunda said.
