Two knocked dead in Mabira

Two people riding on a motorcycle Tuesday evening knocked dead by a speeding vehicle in Mabira Forest, Najjembe in Buikwe District, Kinoni Village, Najjembe Sub-county in Buikwe District.
The Ssezibwa Regional police Spokesperson, Ms Hellen Butoto identified the deceased as Godfrey Kiyini, 37, and another only as Emmanuel.

The two, she said, were riding on motorcycle registration number UDU 159E when they were knocked and appealed to passengers to avoid traveling for long distance by motorcycles but instead use passenger taxis if possible, warning that most Bodas are reckless.

Traffic along that section of Kampala-Jinja road was paralysed for several hours and motorists advised to use alternative Kayunga route


This comes just days after another accident in the same area claimed the life of one person and left three others injured.

The September 18 car crash claimed the life of John Kyaguma, a turn boy in a Fuso vehicle which collided with two other vehicles while Micheal Odoi, Hajji Abudallah Nsamba and Alamazan Mwase all drivers in the three vehicles that were involved in the accident survived with serious injuries.
