UNEB withholds results of 2,559 candidates

UNEB says results of 2559 candidates have been withheld due to malpractices pending investigations.

While releasing the 2017 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results on Friday, the UNEB executive secretary, Daniel Odongo said although the examination was conducted smoothly, some cases of malpractice were reported.
"These were mainly cases of external assistance given to candidates by third parties inside the examination rooms. Consequently, the Board is withholding results of 2559 candidates pending completion of investigations, he said.

According to him, all candidates whose results have been withheld will be accorded a hearing by the Board's Examinations Security Committee as required by the law of the natural justice. Those candidates who will be cleared will have their results released.
