Dr Mbonye, an orthopaedic surgeon at Nakasero hospital says that Ms Namayanja has got a fractured upper hip bone, but she is in stable condition as they continue to conduct other tests.

Her mother Ms Namirembe also fractured her upper arm bones and one of the ribs, she also sustained injuries on her forehead with no injury on skull. However, she is in manageable condition. The driver and body guard are still being assessed but they are less injured according to Dr Mbonye.

The prime Minister Mr Ruhakana Rugunda says that the doctors are doing whatever they can to save the lives of all the injured.

National Resistance Movement (NRM) party treasurer and woman representative for Nakaseke District, Ms Rose Namayanja has been admitted in hospital after she was on Tuesday involved in a motor accident along Kigogwa-Bombo road.

When contacted, government spokesperson, Mr Ofowno Opondo confirmed the news and added, “She is now at Nakasero hospital. We are still waiting for more details and will let you know, what we know now is that she went in alive and she will definitely pull through it,” Mr Opondo said in a phone interview with the Daily Monitor.
Speaking to this reporter at Nakasero hospital, party secretariat’s spokesperson Mr Rogers Mulindwa added that Ms Namayanja was on her way to Kassa Ngombe, Luweero district to attend a ground breaking ceremony for a hospital.
“A lorry truck that was trying to dodge a boda boda rider knocked them. We are not yet aware of their condition, but I am optimistic she will be fine,” he said.

Mr Mulindwa also added that the party treasurer was travelling with her mother Ms Catherine Namirembe, her body guard Richard Kyaze and her driver Mr Isma Ssebunya in her newly acquired official car.
All the occupants of the car are now admitted at Nakaseero hospital with doctors yet to release an official report regarding their health state.
Meanwhile, NRM party members, notably Mr Salim Uhuru and Mr Francis Babu among others have thronged the hospital premises to pay a visit to Ms Namayanja.
