Last Friday, seven couples had the chance to enjoy a Valentine’s Day treat at the Country Lake Resort, Garuga, and RainForest Lodge Mabira, courtesy of Heart to Heart magazine and KFM radio.
The couples set off from the Daily Monitor offices at 3pm. The three couples heading to Country Lake Resort arrived at their destination at 5pm, welcomed by a cultural troupe that waited 300 metres away from the resort. Upon reaching the resort’s premises, the couples were handed bouquets and their thirst quenched with juice and fruits.
“We feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to host these couples. For days, my team and I have been working round the clock to make your stay here pleasurable. I have no doubt that at the end of your stay you will bear witness to my words,” Mr Moses Odomel, the resort’s general manager, said.
The couples were then led to their lovely rooms and at 7.30pm, they were ushered to their beautifully tables for dinner. It was a four course meal enjoyed alongside love ballads and a live performance from artiste Coco Finger. Meanwhile, the four couples who went to the RainForest Lodge, said they had a whole new experience.
“The whole experience was awesome. We were given a nicely furnished cottage, a bottle of sweet wine and we went swimming. When night came, we had a mouth-watering full course meal and played a few games with the other couples,” Ms Hellen Etoori says.
