Mbarara Municipal Primary School is constructing a multimillion vocational complex to equip students with practical skills.
According to the head teacher, Mr Martin Kananura, the three-storey Golden Jubilee Vocational Centre will equip pupils in computer, tailoring, knitting and carpentry skills, among others.
“Having seen the challenges of the young people, especially unemployment after school, we decided to begin equipping them with employable skills at an early stage,” he said.
Mr Kananura said this would encourage young people to purse vocational studies. At least Shs300m has already been spent on the complex.
