Gen Kayihura was arrested on Wednesday from his farm in Lyantonde and brought to CMI headquarters where he was interrogated before he was moved to Makindye barracks. Former Gen Kayihura’s personal assistant Jonathan Baroza, former Flying Squad commander Herbert Muhangi, former cyber-crime boss Richard Ndaboine, former director of Crime Intelligence Ndawula Atwooki and former Kampala South Regional Police Commander Siraje Bakaleke were arrested on Tuesday night. “[ACP) Muhangi, [SSP] Ndaboine and [Col] Ndawula were transferred to Makindye Military Barracks on Tuesday night amid tight security. They were moved in a police van escorted by military patrol,” a source said.
The charges against Kayihura and his co-accused are not yet known.
