Kasese, Bundibugyo attacks: What you sow is what you reap, says Museveni

Following last week’s attacks in Kasese and Bundibugyo districts which left over 60 people killed, President Yoweri Museveni has issued a statement explaining their origin.

According to the statement issued on Tuesday by Mr Museveni, tension in the Rwenzori region started with Mr. Charles Mumbere, now His Highness Omusinga of the Bakonjo, when he met him recently in pursuit of his (Mumbere’s) installation as the Rwenzururu king.

Referring to a Luganda proverb and a biblical verse, Mr Museveni said Mr Mumbere did not heed his advice when he warned him of the probable tension that would arise in the region by his installation as the Rwenzururu king.

“………Nantabulirwa yasabaala na bwa bbumba” and the Biblical statement that “whatever a man sows, that is what he will reap…,” reads part of Mr Museveni’s statement. See full statement below.
