A father of four is admitted to Ronam Clinic in Lira Town with serious burns after his wife allegedly poured hot water on his body for unknown reasons.

Mr Moses Olila, a businessman and resident of Central Division in Lira Municipality, is nursing severe burns covering most parts of his body, including his genitals.
Mr Lameck Ogwang, a medical staff at Ronam Clinic, said Mr Olila sustained 45 degree burns. The 26-year-old woman is still on the run and reported to be in her home village.

Mr Olila said on December 28, he was going to the market and his wife told him to bring for her charcoal which he did at around 8pm. He added that his wife then requested for money to buy milk. When the wife returned from the shop, Mr Olila said she got a kettle of boiling water and poured it on him and fled.

He said he had not quarrelled with his wife of 10 years but suspects she was bitter that he over stays outside and could have suspected adultery. “I want this woman prosecuted, she was going to kill me,” he said.

Mr Olila’s mother, Ms Hellen Apili, said she does not want the woman again with her son.
