Woman jailed 2-years for uttering obscene words

Mayuge Grade one Magistrate Isaac Imurani Kintu has sentenced a 27-year-old woman to Ikulwe Prison for uttering obscene words against her neighbour.
Amina Kagoya a resident of Mayuge town council was on Thursday found guilty of committing the offence on May 20.
Court heard that the culprit insulted Margret Kafuko in the face of her family, something that belittled her.
However, the magistrate said she could pay a fine of Shs500, 000 within 30days and secure her freedom or continue serving her sentence in jail.
Kintu said the punishment will serve as an example to others in society with similar behaviour to refrain from it.
