Workers at the China Railway Seventh Group (CRSG) have resumed work after the company resolved their differences and the management at the end of this week.
The CRSG was contracted by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to rehabilitate road junctions in the city.
Over 400 Ugandan workers at a Chinese-owned construction company went on strike to protest over alleged poor pay and sexual harassment, which the company management denied, saying it is being fuelled by some selfish politicians.
CRSG director, Mr Cui Yun told this reporter that the issues were resolved and the workers have resumed work.

“Issues of sexual harassment does not exist in this company and therefore the allegations which the workers raised have compelled us to put in place a commitment to investigate it,” he said.
During a meeting with different stakeholders including officials from the ministry of Gender and those from KCCA at the end of this week, the Chinese firm agreed to increase salaries of different sections of workers and improve on their working conditions, among others.
