Yumbe District Woman MP, Oleru Huda Abason has been rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries in a car accident.

The accident happened in the wee hours of the morning at Bamusuuta in Nakasongola district along Kampala-Gulu highway at around 5:00am.
Ms Oleru and the other two occupants in the car were travelling from Yumbe district to Kampala in a Toyota Noah Registration number UAU 550M.
Ms Oleru’s driver, Mr Richard Abason reportedly lost control of the car after he failed to brake, there by ramming into a trench.

According to the Savanah Regional Police spokesperson, Mr Lameck Kigozi, the MP and the other occupants were rushed to a private clinic, Bulamu Clinic for first aid before being transferred to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala where they are undergoing treatment.

“The MP and the other people she was travelling with are now undergoing treatment at Nakasero where they were taken. I am also told they are out of danger and therefore no need for alarm. The car they were travelling in has been towed to Kakooge police station,” said Mr Kigozi.

When contacted on phone, Ms Oleru confirmed the reports and added she was at Nakasero Hospital under treatment after she sustained minor injuries.
“It is true I was involved in an accident.

I sustained minor injuries and I hope to be well but the other person (lady) I was travelling with is the one who sustained serious injuries and she is being taken for surgery,” said Ms Oleru, adding, “The car overturned when we were approaching Luwero on our way from my constituency”.
