70-year-old man remanded for raping 14-year-old dumb girl

A 70-year old herdsman in Kaliro district has been remanded to prison for allegedly raping a 14-year old mute girl.
Aramadhan Bageya, a resident of Bulangira zone in Kaliro town council was on Tuesday remanded to Kaliro prison for two weeks pending further investigations into the case.
Court presided over by Grade One Magistrate; Ms Pamela Karamaji heard that Bageya on March 31, this year took advantage of the girl’s inability to shout and dragged her to the bush as she collected fire wood.
The suspect who is a herdsman is said to have been grazing his animals at the time.
At the time, the victim (name withheld) was in the company of two other girls who reportedly managed to escape and report the matter to Kaliro police which arrested Bageya.
