Police have confirmed that they are holding the manager of Dejavu bar following the death of singer Emmanuel Mayanja, aka AK-47. Police spokesperson Fred Enanga had earlier indicated that Stephene Kisenyi, the manager, was summoned to record a statement and also help establish contact with other employees of Dejavu Pub in Kansanga where singer Mayanja allegedly fell to his death in the washrooms.
“We are holding Kisenyi in our cells but we haven’t preferred any charges against him at the moment. We are also looking for Milton Mumbere, a cleaner at the pub. Investigating officers were told Mumbere is likely to have been in the washrooms at the time Mayanja visited them. The manager told us that Mumbere’s job restricts him to his work station at all times,” Mr Enanga said. The police also confirmed that the postmortem report of Mayanja’s death was ready Wednesday evening. The Force spokesperson, however, said a few signatures were required before the report is made public.
“We are waiting for a family member or representative to come and sign and receive it, then we shall take it up from there,” Mr Enanga said.
However, by press time, the report had not been signed nor received by anyone from the Mayanja family.
