City musician and businessman, Daniel Kazibwe, also known as Ragga Dee, has refuted claims that he has stepped down as NRM flag bearer for Kampala mayor seat in favour of captain Francis Babu, a former minister for Housing.
Rumors have been spreading on social media that Ragga Dee had agreed with Captain Babu to pull out of the race.
When contacted on Monday, Mr Kazibwe said he is still in the race.

ā€œIā€™m the (NRM party) lord mayor of Kampala. I beat captain Babu with over 8,000 votes in the party primaries,ā€ he said.
Mr Kazibwe garnered 16,816 votes against Babu's 8,802. The other contender, Mr Mohammed Kasule got 3,940 votes.
Shortly after he was declared winner, Mr Kazibwe told the media that his focus will be on improving the living standards for the people of Kampala.

"To go through this is not a simple thing because I was contesting against people who have been there before. I mean Mr Babu has been in the political circle for a very a long time and I thought it was [going to be] difficult for me to win but now I have come out as the winner. I want to work for the normal people, the local people. I want to work for the poor people. In Uganda there are so many people suffering because of maybe leaders who don't understand their ways of living", Mr Kazibwe said.
