The issues of returning combatants behaving violently is due to our ‘African’ negligence. The world over; since the second World War, when the posttraumatic syndrome was recognised, civilised armies set up detection and treatment centres for soldiers returning from war.

The sooner Uganda does this, the better. Everyone can be a victim of PTSD, whether an officer, doctor or teacher. The victim has no control over their actions until treated.
