When UNBS instituted Pre-shipment verification of conformity to standards (PVOC) to test all goods for quality before they are shipped to Uganda, it was failed by selfish people, who are probably motivated by profit.
UNBS again got cabinet approval to re-instate PVOC until Minister Kyambadde suspended it only two weeks after UNBS had announced it.
Your Excellency, you are our only hope. Otherwise, traders in substandard goods will continue negatively affecting this economy.
