On December 9, I watched a TV programme called “Ekyooto” on Star TV where the UNBS team visited companies that were making sub-standard goods. Among the factories visited was one manufacturing bottled water. This factory had no laboratory to check the quality of the water, the floor and bottles used were dirty. Most of the factories that were visited belong to “investors”.

Mama Amelia, I therefore got shocked by your speech in support of these “investors”. In your own words you said it is wrong to show these bad images on TV about the investors. These statements show that you have more interest in investors than us the consumers who will suffer.

So many Ugandans are dying of diseases due to substandard goods. As a Trade and Industry minister we need you to do more for us as consumers. A better Uganda is that with a healthy population that can do more in the development of our nation.
