The media recently reported that pupils beat up the Local Council 1 chairperson of Namasale Town Council in Amolator District because he attempted to round them up from a video hall during school hours.

When he tried to persuade them to go back to school, they reportedly pelted him with stones for “inconveniencing” them! Parents and community leaders should step up surveillance and ensure that children of school-going age attend school.

Let by-laws be instituted to ban video operations if they cannot operate within accepted guidelines.
