Pope Francis has been announced by Time magazine as “Person of the Year 2013 .” It is said that the other contestants were politicians, social activists, military men, etc who are not without controversial theories and practices which are not always humane. So we can confidently say that it is a triumph of human conscience and morals that are suitable for all humanity.

At the announcement of this prestigious honour, the Vatican’s spokesman Fr Lombardi rightly noted, “It is a positive sign that one of the most prestigious recognitions by the international media has been given to a person who proclaims to the world spiritual, religious and moral values and speaks out forcefully in favour of peace and greater justice...”

Pope Francis has been a guiding light to all the people of goodwill irrespective of religious affiliation, race, colour and nationality, as well as people ascribing to different orientation in sex and sensibility.
