The current statistics show that Uganda has got 40 per cent of Africa’s fertile soils which means we can feed 35 per cent of Africa’s total population. Sadly, Uganda is one of the countries that are most affected by hunger and starvation. People still die due to starvation. Have you ever asked yourself or wondered why this is so? It’s possibly because Uganda has many corrupt leaders.
From the Auditor General’s report, it can’t go unnoticed that Uganda has so far lost trillions of shillings to corruption and embezzlement. Unfortunately, those implicated in corruption scandals have not been severely punished. They should have been sacked and directed to refund the stolen money.
The burden has instead been put on the taxpayers in form of increased taxes. The greed of the few Ugandans has put the entire country in a state we don’t understand. To stop this greed from eating up the entire country those that have been pointed out to be involved in corruption scandals must return our money and resign.
