Does God work according to human deadlines and under pressure?
Posted Thursday, January 3 2013 at 02:00
When the clock started ticking towards 2013, Christians in their thousands attending the Passover celebrations at the Namboole Stadium were asked to raise up their prayer requests. They had earlier been asked to jot down their requests on a note card, and in his own words, Pastor Joseph Serwadda promised that by June 30 2013, God would have answered all the prayers!
Since when did God start working according to human deadlines?
And while I understand that everything works out if one has even the slightest of faith it’s also probable that very few of us have such amount of faith?
The new year could be a mere concept, another change from night to day not necessarily a special transition from misfortune to fortune.
As such, it’s incredible to expect miracles simply because of the transition from one year to another, especially when not much has been done in terms of our life patterns.
God is too big to be confined in both space and time, and his open ended modus operandi must be emphasised to all believers at all times.
