Encourage women to prove their worth

In Summary
My heartfelt appreciation also goes to the average rural mother who goes through hell to tend to her household. These are the real heroes of this nation.
I would like to laud women for their contribution to the development of this nation. I was ecstatic about some who were recognised during the Women’s Day celebrations in Nakasongola District and awarded medals.
My heartfelt appreciation also goes to the average rural mother who goes through hell to tend to her household. These are the real heroes of this nation.
However, there is a lot to be desired on the topic of gender equality. A number of so called activists have hijacked the meaning of emancipation to promote sexist propaganda. They have chosen to view emancipation as a fight against men. How are the men to be brought on board to further this cause if they are painted as the enemy?
I salute ladies who I have made it to the top of their respective fields like KCCA’s Jennifer Musisi, URA’s Allen Kagina, etc. They needed no special platform to excel; they leave a legacy of what a woman’s worth truly is.
Emphasis should thus be on encouraging women to take up leadership positions and prove their worth. We have had great female leaders like Winnie Byanyima tussling it out with men, and coming out on top. I would also like to laud Ann Adeke Ebaju upon her election to the Makerere guild presidency.
This is the kind of emancipation I stand for.
