The Daily Monitor of March 6 published a photo of the dilapidated equator symbol near Kasese in Western Uganda.

Uganda Wildlife Authority would like to clarify that the said equator is located at the busy Bwera-Kasese road junction, which is a busy area and which falls under the jurisdiction of Kasese local government, not Uganda Wild life Authority (UWA).

UWA also feels that this equator symbol was placed in a wrong location as GPS-Coordinates show that the equator line actually runs right through the Bwera junction.
