In Summary

I think the best way to curb the practice is through sensitisation of tribal elders.

Female Genital Mutilation doesn’t thrive because the people who practice it are ignorant but because they are devoted to their culture and beliefs. Many of them would rather die than abandon the practice.

I think the best way to curb the practice is through sensitisation of tribal elders. The elders wield a lot of influence and their stand on FMG matters. NGO’s should do more in the campaign against the practice and government should also facilitate activists in their fight against FGM.
