Formation of joint security force is timely

I commend leaders from the different East African countries for establishing a joint standby military force to deal with emergencies in the region and help in peace-keeping missions.
President Museveni and his counterparts from the East African region signed this protocol on June 26. East African countries continue to be haunted by terrorism. The formation of the joint standby force is no doubt timely. Continuous terrorist attacks both directly and indirectly affect trade in the region.
The signing and eventual establishment of the Force is a step in the right direction. East Africa and Africa in general are threatened by cross boarder terrorism and the only way to combat this is by pulling resources and personnel together.
