Government acted pitifully

The spat between the Legislature and the Executive over a mere motion to honour the Anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela was most unfortunate. It is such small issues that portray the government as utterly disorganised.
If I may ask, why throw big words at each other when this whole issue can be sorted out without any bitterness? Furthermore, why blame the press, when the main actors in the Legislature and Executive are apparently confused?
Undoubtedly, I wholeheartedly agree with the South-African high commissioner, when he said “he was deeply disappointed!” Certainly the whole saga was a scandal. At times I wonder whether our leaders have a habit of starting “wars” for the sake of it- what a country!
