Here is the true meaning of patriotism

What you need to know:

  • I have no words, good enough to use to appreciate these two statesmen but they have portrayed patriotism extremely well.
  • I call upon all those in ‘big’ offices to copy and paste from what Mr Muyingo and Mr Mutabazi are doing.

Samuel Adams, a statesman and political philosopher in his letter of 1777, wrote that “Give credit to whom credit is due.” Basing on this, fellow Ugandans, permit me to thank and acknowledge two statesmen in our country who have persistently showed their selflessness in handling matters of concern. You are all aware that some Ugandans holding ‘big’ offices have been involved in many scandals like corruption, forgery, sex scandals, the list is endless, but these two countrymen are exceptional and I strongly believe you will agree with me in commending their work.

On February 7, I watched news on one of the local TV stations where the minister for Higher Education was inspecting some schools. He found a mess in the schools he went to, and acted. How I wish all those persons in different government offices would follow John Chrysestom Muyingo’s example.
However, there is one issue I would like the minister to handle. If it’s possible, follow up on inspectors of schools. They are so relaxed in regard to their work while our schools rot away. Your intervention might change this laissez-faire attitude.
The second person I would like to acknowledge is the Lwengo District chairperson George Mutabaazi.
The whole nation knows that he loves and cares about Uganda and its citizens. Continue serving.

I have no words, good enough to use to appreciate these two statesmen but they have portrayed patriotism extremely well. It is a shame that some leaders think patriotism is taught in class. I pray that God strengthens these two and equips them with what it takes to make a better Uganda. I have one request for you too Mr Mutabaazi. Please update us on St Baptist Kalyamenvu Primary School in Kyazanga- Lwengo District.
I call upon all those in ‘big’ offices to copy and paste from what Mr Muyingo and Mr Mutabazi are doing. I strongly believe that if every district had a Mutabaazi and a Muyingo, development in our country would be assured. For God and my Country.
