IGG should intervene in Kasese youth play ground wrangle

It is coming to three years now since the Kamaiba habitat land wrangles in Kasese District began between residents of Kamaiba block land and some few individuals who sold off the youth playground and green spaces in the area to some individuals and organisations.

This case was reported to Kasese police citing corrupt officials but the case was neglected. The youth further wrote to the then RDC Capt James Tumwesigye who ordered the police to immediately intervene in this matter but when Tumwesigye was transferred, the case was again ignored. Now construction is going on at the disputed land. It is outrageous that many officials have refused to assist the youth in this case. Last year in June, residents of the same area went to Kasese police on the same case and many letters have been written to the municipal authorities.

One can see clearly that Kamaiba habitat land wrangles are just being neglected by some offices.
I can only hope that the IGG’s office can intervene and find a solution to this land wrangle.
