It is time to rethink torture of innocent children by stepmothers

As I was listening to Kfm radio at around 6am, my morale was taken aback by this disheartening story of a woman who inserted razor blades into the genitals of a baby girl that is only a month old leading to her death.
Just think of another woman doing this to your baby and maybe this will give you reason to judge yourself for your deeds.
For a long time now, I have been hearing of deeds of stepmothers, however this is what I least expected of my fellow women.
When a new baby is born, we should know that it did not ask to be here nor to be part of a disgruntled relationship. A baby is a gift from God that needs to be handled with care and love.
It is wrong to try and take these little children’s lives. Remember that some mothers spend sleepless nights and restless days fasting and praying for a miracle of a baby.
I am calling upon councillors, local chiefs, children, relatives, neighbours and even husbands to work with the police, when we see women mistreating little ones to rescue the baby before the mistreatment turns fatal.
My belief is that once these mothers are caught and dealt with, it will be a lesson to others with such evil intentions not to carry on with what they had in mind. We, as a society, also need to develop more critical thinking on how to deal with this vice once and for all. We cannot continue to sweep the dirt under the carpet.
The time to act is now.
