In Summary

He never yearned for and will not be buried in the many Kololos’ or burial grounds for national heroes of South Africa but in his home village in Qunu in Eastern Cape Province.

Nelson Mandela’s legacy continues to teach us a number of lessons. He did not only amaze the world with his willingness to reconcile with his tormentors, but also his simplicity in a wake of enormous greatness and almost sainthood.

It is noteworthy that the anti-apartheid icon and former South African president was never flown abroad for “quality” medical care but treated in a local hospital in Pretoria!

Equally amazing is that, the great man is not about to stop surprising the world even in death. He never yearned for and will not be buried in the many Kololos’ or burial grounds for national heroes of South Africa but in his home village in Qunu in Eastern Cape Province.

My assumption is that Africa must be going through the pangs of giving birth to a new generation of Mandelas. Rest in Peace Madiba.
