MPL scholarship is a good project

Monitor Publications Limited (MPL) should be commended for the support it has shown towards supporting education in Uganda.

In the Daily Monitor of February 14, was a story of how MPL, through the Monitor Bus for Excellence Scheme, has changed the strategy of sponsoring the best students from private to public primary schools. More than 20 students will benefit from this scheme this year following their excellent performance in last year’s Primary Leaving Examination.

I believe this will foster competition that will lead to better performance because students will be competing for the scholarships. We should therefore credit MPL for sponsoring excelling students for further studies.
