MPs’ demands are too many and costly
Posted Saturday, March 2 2013 at 02:00
In Summary
While teachers, health workers, policemen, soldiers and many others continue to earn very little, the MPs’ demand list increases every day.
According to press reports, the taxpayer is about to part with Shs80 million to build a day-care centre for MPs’ children. Readers should be reminded that as I write this; MPs’ iPads may have already been procured.
Also, at the beginning of the 9th Parliament, MPs were each given Shs103 million to buy cars.
While teachers, health workers, policemen, soldiers and many others continue to earn very little, the MPs’ demand list increases every day.
Our MPs think they are the only people who matter.
As the Public Accounts and other committees continue to probe graft cases, they should realise that the institution which should be probed is Parliament!
