Kyambogo University management notes with concern the alarming story in the Daily Monitor of March 14, titled “Shs19b missing at Kyambogo University”. Whereas the IGG, the Auditor General, the Uganda Police Force and Kyambogo University Council have separately instituted investigations into allegations of financial impropriety/mismanagement, the investigations remain on-going and none of the above has concluded their investigations. The university management as per policies and guidelines issued and approved by the University Council, has in place good finance management systems to mitigate any likely losses or fraud.

The university management will always work towards improving its systems while at the same time working/cooperating with government agencies/authorities in any investigations currently being undertaken.
The general public is informed that the stories of financial loss are false, and contradictory since no report from the university or above mentioned bodies was released to that effect.
