The government’s plan on a policy for domestic workers’ welfare is a good move because it will protect workers who are suffering at the hands of cruel and unreasonable bosses.

I was once told by a friend that their housemaid was subjected to doing all the house chores, if their mother was not happy with the work done, she would penalise her by beating her , denying her food and if she accidentally broke utensils in the house, she would not get her full pay.

Therefore, I appreciate the government’s effort to put this policy into consideration. If passed, many of the domestic workers will know their rights and their employers will be required to respect them.

Some people employ very young girls and boys exposing them to sexual harassment and this usually results in unwanted pregnancies. Domestic workers therefore need to be protected.
