In Summary

The sexual union of a man and woman is called the marital act because the two become physically one in a way that is impossible between two men or two women.

I am disappointed with the House of Commons for voting to approve a bill legalising same-sex marriage in Britain.

Marriage is an institution that predates civilisation and is exclusive to one man and one woman who have the responsibility to procreate the human race, and to nurture, educate, and pass on shared values to their offspring. Neither Church nor State invented marriage, and neither can change its nature.

The sexual union of a man and woman is called the marital act because the two become physically one in a way that is impossible between two men or two women. Whatever a homosexual union might be or represent, it is not physically marital. Gender is inextricably bound up with physical sexual identity; and “gender-free marriage” is a contradiction in terms, like a square circle.

This new “gender ideology” which is increasingly being imposed on society by Western governments, undermines the fundamental understanding of what it means to be human.

In seeking to make every individual completely autonomous, it destroys the understanding of the family as a community designed for the rearing of children. In this radical new understanding of sexuality, children lose their own rights and become mere objects of adult possession.
