Society should help street children and their families

By Joan Tendo

This week I talked to a street beggar on Kampala Road. I asked her how she ended up on the streets and she said that she came with a lorry that was bringing cattle to Kampala.

Life at home was hard with nothing to eat or drink. She thought it would be better in Kampala. Sadly, in Kampala, she has been tortured and raped by men who end up impregnating her hence the street children.
Help should be given to these brothers and sisters of ours so that they too can have a good life.
