Uganda should be the last country to think of pulling out of ICC

Apart from South Sudan that has just attained its autonomy from Sudan, Uganda is the only other country that has not witnessed peaceful change of power since it attained its independence. We have had a record eight presidents with almost all ascending to power through the barrel of the gun!
It is on record that during all the violent changes of regimes, the country lost thousands of people, the most remarkable being lives that were lost during the five-year bush war in Luweero and the 20-year insurgency in northern Uganda. Our current government deemed it necessary to hand over the perpetrators of crimes against humanity in northern Uganda to the International Criminal Court so that the country can get redress that had eluded the victims of this war. We are keeping our fingers crossed hoping that one day; God will answer our prayers so that the architects of this war will be brought to book.
ICC may be selective, as many people have rightly argued, but ICC is a complementary court that tries only referred cases, because it, in no small measure, checks the excess of African despots.
