I read in the Daily Monitor of January 10 that Victoria University has lost it’s affiliation to one of the universities abroad. What is the implication of such action to our sovereignty as a nation? Do they want to imply that a mere institution is going to dictate the morals of a sovereign state?

I pray that our leaders will handle this matter with an upright moral stand and with a sober mind-set. If Victoria University was registered under the Companies Act of Uganda, then it must follow the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.

I hope the university will fulfil it’s plans to relocate the students who were undertaking courses at the university.
