Why are we bent on distorting facts?

I wish to appreciate the revelation made by Mr Wilson Okwanje who was helping to put the record straight in his submission that ran in your letters page yesterday under the title, “Why did Awori speak so of the late Chango?” Honestly, there have been lots of distortions in our history.
Today it is very common to see young men, especially, believing all the lies and distortions which they are fed on.
For example, as in the csase of Aggrey Awori’s statement, how could UPC have organised an election when the Military Commission was in charge at that time?
So when Mr Awori was in UPC, wasn’t he cognisant of this fact, especially that the Military Commission, whose deputy chief was Mr Yoweri Museveni, organised the 1980 general elections? I am being brought to believe that the greatest achievement Uganda has in the last 27 years are lies and distortion of facts.
