Will Museveni return favour and back Ruto?

In 2016 Deputy William Ruto pitched camp in the Elgon region of Uganda campaigning for Mr Yoweri Museveni who was running for presidency for the fourth term against his long time opponent Dr Kizza Besigye. Mr Ruto joined Mr Museveni’s campaign trail in the Elgon area, the home of the Sabiny, who share the same values and norms with Mr Ruto .Kenyans elect their president on August 8. We expected Mr Museveni to do the same in favour of his friend Ruto, who gave him a stiff arm that made him win in the Elgon region.
It is only days to the election date following a tight race between mainly the National Super Alliance (NASA) led by Mr Raila Odinga and the ruling Jubilee led by Mr Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy Ruto.

President Museveni’s voice in support of Mr Ruto has not been heard anywhere. This raises many questions. Will Mr Museveni also come out publicly and declare support for his friend Ruto, who together with Mr Kenyatta, are facing a very stiff challenge from their biggest competitor NASA under Mr Odinga and deputy Kalonzo Musyoka.
