Winnie Byanyima has done us proud

Ms Winnie Byanyima has consistently raised Uganda’s flag high. It is not shocking that she has again beaten the odds to raise it higher by becoming the new Oxfam executive director.

Ms Byanyima will lead Oxfam International, which offers strategic guidance, support, expertise and coordination across Oxfam. It’s believed that Oxfam works with people in 94 countries in finding effective solutions to ending injustice of poverty.

She was once the Director of the Directorate of Women, Gender and Development at the AU headquarters and served for two consecutive terms as a Member of Parliament, representing Mbarara Municipality, from 1994 until 2004.

I want to credit honourable Byanyima, my fellow woman for being a good example to women.
