Athletics. Uganda’s 10,000m World Athletics Championships silver medalist Joshua Cheptegei has revealed that legend Farah was in pleasant shock of his talent.

Since finishing second in the 10,000 metres at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics, Britian’s Mo Farah has an unbroken streak of ten global final wins (the 5000m in 2011, the 10,000m in 2017 and the double in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016).

There is consequently no one better placed to speak authoritatively on long distance running.
Uganda’s 10,000m World Athletics Championships silver medalist Joshua Cheptegei has revealed that Farah was in pleasant shock of his talent when the two met on Saturday in central London. “He told me yesterday when we met in Nike Town that he didn’t know I had a final kick,” the athlete told Daily Monitor on Sunday during an interview at Gouman Hotel where Team Uganda is residing.

As Farah sprinted down on the home straight to clinch the latest medal of his illustrious career, the British legend could be seen turning his head sideways as he felt Cheptegei’s strides on his shoulder. “He said…ahhhhhh, maybe it is indeed the right time for me to leave the track and join the road,” Cheptegei added.

Farah is retiring from the track to concentrate on marathon running. Cheptegei’s next major event is the 2018 Commonwealth Games to be held in Goldcoast, Australia.
