UAF want out-of-court settlement in election case

Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) on Thursday asked Justice Benjamin Kabiito to allow them more time present their reasons for seeking an out-of-court settlement with Julius Achon .

Achon, a former world junior champion and 1994 Uganda Sports Press Association sportsman of the year, sued UAF for allegedly rigging him out of the federation elections in January.

Represented by Francis Kiwa and Hudson Arinaitwe, UAF asked court to be allowed present a five point presentation as to why they should settle the case out of court.

With the request granted, the federation is expected to present their case on November 14 while Achon represented by Ntende,Owor and Co Advocates will file their defence a fortnight later before the final rejoinder on December 5.
