Ugandan Athletes ready to impress at the IAAF U18 Championships

Six Ugandan athletes are starting their long awaited journey of the IAAF U18 Championships today at the Karasani Stadium in Kenya.


Daniel Kiprop and Hosea Kiplangat in 1500m, Joshua Kibet and Bekele Apenyo 800m, Sarah Chelengat and Esther Chekwemoi 3000m and Daniel Kiprop 1500m will have their opening marathons today.
A team of 12 Ugandans under coach Moses Asonya arrived in Kenya yesterday morning for the five days event that has attracted over 200 athletes from member countries of the IAAF.

Sebastian Coe President IAAF said," This event is so helpful as it prepares young athletes for bigger games in future." He also thanked Uganda and Kenya for hosting the two big events of the IAAF this year and that is the World Cross Country that was in Uganda March 23 and the IAAF U18 Championships starting today in Kenya.
